0 commentsSome member of MyPDACafe was kind enough to sell sme his used VAIO. This baby has got a Duo Core T5500, geForece 7400 and Vista in it. DOTA is not a problem.Screen is slightly inferior, doesn't read SDHC card, and battery basically need a replacement. Other than that, perfect. Not bad for 800 ringgit.
Thanks mr. micheal. you just made my day! ;)
0 commentswith RMVB Player getting popular locally, i am thinking to get one for enjoying RMVB in the living room. Expect to see many of them in the coming PC Fair. This one looks particularly interesting for the price of RM200, a bit sayang without a HDMI port, but the component output should be sufficient because the max output capable is only 720p.
anyone want to jump into the boat and get one with me this coming friday? maybe we can get discounts if buy more. heh heh :)

0 commentsDo you know you can play PS2 games from USB harddisk ? I just found out today, while people has been doing it since 2005... so n00b. Anyway, late is better then never. hehehe. Basically there are 2 ways of doing this.
1st method, you need to purchase the PS2 HDD + Ethernet adaptor (US$50 on ebay), and use HDLoader to do it. This method require extra works and money, but its a clean solution (no more inserting Disc once you install everything).
Step 1: http://www.iplayplaystation.com/ps2-saves-homebrew-tutorial/ -- download and burn the uLaunchElf ISO, boot it
Step 2: http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials/FMCBv1.8_for_dummies.html -- unzip the Noob Pack into USB Thumbdrive and run the MCBOOT_BOOT with uLE.
2nd method use a USB media (external HDD or Pendrive), and use the HD Advance CD. The down side of this method is that you need to boot with the HD Advance CD every-time you want to play the games from USB.

I actually go out a limb and did all 3 of them. first i do the uLE + mcBoot install, then make a folder in my USB and copy the HD Advance CD content into it. Now i no longer need the CD to boot, and i can play games from USB. Brilliant ! ;)
MC Boot -> launch HD Avance -> launch your GAMES :)
This video pretty much sums it up. But our modded PS2 does not require that lame Swap Magic CD ;)
As a bonus, you can find games here: http://www.mininova.org/sub/11
0 commentsHook up a spare 19" monitor for fun, one for gaming (left), one for checking out the news feeds and socialize. Now i wont miss any important IM when playing games. Hehehe
0 commentsWhat is White, running Mac OS X, but aint no Mac ? Its my S10 of cause ! (heheh, lame)
I have gotten OSX and Wifi working this time, checkout my screenshot -- the battery meter works too. beautiful! Thanks to the creator of WindOSX86.iso -- an os x distro made for msi-wind.

then, ordered a Lenovo Ideapad S10 (but i am thinking to wait further, S10 still consider not portable enough for me) and we got the pink one yesterday. More about Ideapad S10 can be found at MyPDACafe article here.
Lenovo S10 is a sweet HOT little notebook.
0 commentsLooks like the 2nd half of 2008 till the end of 2009 or even further are going to be war of mini laptops (netbooks). And yes i have been drooling over and itching to get one upon seeing the Lenovo S10, ECS G10IL (wtf), and the one Dell is going to offer. so far, ECS G10IL is looking best imho, especially when its closed. ^_^ and btw i think i spotted this in PCFair selling for RM1499 (ftec eBook)
I wonder if Apple is going to release their netbook soon?
ps: caught this 2 very funny and sacarstic reply in the ftec ebook webpage
#1> The flames make it go faster. Didn't you know?
#2> Hum... I think the flame is the Malaysian habit: they put that on slow cars to make them look alike sport cars! ;) (no offense)
0 commentsHP has launched a mini notebook 3 days ago, along the line with Asus EEE PC called the HP Mininote (model hp2133), with higher speed CPU (1.2 - 1.6) and bigger screen (8.9 vs eee's 7), plus the glossy feel like any other HP laptops.
I am keen to see more of this kind of cheap and good mini notebooks launched by other manufacturers. Maybe then i will get one when my right choice appear. ;)
