To my surprise today i received the Google Wave beta invitation!

Ever since i bought my DSLR (last year) i have taken over 10 thousands photos ;) i keep them in my harddisk and copied  those i want to develop into another folder. But so far i have yet developed a single photos from the collection. Reason? lazy to go out and get printed.

Last week a friend told me to checkout eoe.com.my,an online photo printing service. She told me the print quality was good, the price is 30 cents for 4R and 50 cents for 5R (i can get 45 cents) excluding shipping fees. So if you are saving a few bucks from driving and parking, this might be a good idea to get your prints and have them send directly to other people you want to give them the photos :)

The ordering is basically done in 3 steps,

1. Signup

I dont really like websites that require signing up, especially asking for so much details (IC, adderss, phone... why they want my IC?) but later on i realize the good thing is that i can keep my photos there until i am happy and ready to print. so.. i am OK with sign up.. but i am not OK with asking for IC. :)

2. Upload and Print

Basically you have few ways of getting photos printed. You can create albums and later on print them, or you can just bulk upload and print your photos directly (as mentioned earlier, the "fast" way). When uploading photos, use the bulk upload if possible... but it requires an ActiveX program to be installed and THIS IS ONLY supported by INTERNET EXPLORER. bad idea. Hope they upgrade it to using Flash or Java (like the facebook album uploader).

3. Payment

EOE allow payment via Maybank2U, which is convinient. otherwise you can also pay by credit card, pretty standard things. Dont be freaked by the 4 mini steps here, most of the time you just click next, next, and next :)

Wow.. internet is no longer just browsing web pages. Browser grow complicated each and every minute, and sooner or later a web browser is going to be all you need for your computer. Here's few quick thing of what's next in the internet that I think are revolutionary ;) some makes things easier for programmer and some make things complicated. Creep me out as I have so much more to learn :P

2. HTML 5. Yeah, I just barely understands all of HTML 4 and it is going 5 now. Just like my children. Checkout http://dev.w3.org/html5/spec/Overview.html, offline support (ooh.. bye bye google gears), embeded medias support (video, audio), image, MathML, SVG, Canvas, Datagrid(!), ... bla bla bla.

4. Offline browsing -- things went from offline to online, and now they go offline again ;) (HTML5, Google Gears, Adobe Air/Titanium (open source AA),

btw, my internet speed is horrible these days, our dvd/vcd uncle are getting back their businesses.

Google released Picasa with alot of cool new features, grab it from picasa.google.com. It supports camera RAW format now. and the Vista/XP integrated image viewer is a great addon too. screen shot below.

If you are fan of baidu, be sure to check www.koowo.com. The download client makes searching and downloading from baidu easier ;) i dont quite like it for one thing -- most of the files you got are going to be radio-quality WMA. its not going to sounds great in your iPod.

Surfing is good for your sticky chimouness. Today i come across Cappuccino, a new framework that let you create your web application like a PRO (or fagala Mac hore) without needing to shave your hiroshima. Sounds like heaven!  and it is Open Source :)

With Cappuccino, you don't need to know HTML. You'll never write a line of CSS. You don't ever have interact with DOM. We only ask developers to learn one technology, Objective-J, and one set of APIs. Plus, these technologies are implementations of well known and well understood existing ones. Developers can leverage decades of collective experience to really accelerate the pace of building rich web applications.

Below is a screenshot of me testing out the pilot/sample Slide Show (aka Powerpoint) application built by the developer of Cappucinno, using Cappucinno. You can check it out at www.280slides.com. It looks great, and it looks too Macintosh.

Google basically want to be part of everything related to the web. Now they are into browser. The Google Chrome beta was released today (windows only).  try it :) 

there are couple of cool things about chrome you can read it from the chrome site. For my own experience, its just another browser. maybe its faster, lighter, but i hate it coz it just made web-masters' life a tad harder (another browser to cross check for compatibility).

Today we launched a new eNewspaper project -- KLPOS.com. This is the 2nd site that utilize our enewspaper CMS. Hooray. :)

Notice the little "Talk to me now!" box on the right of chimou.com? click on it and you are chatting to me instantly, you dont need additional software. You have to install the Google Talk application from www.google.com/talk/ before people can send message to you.

I was exploring the Flickr API and found something today. With PHP, you can easily make a search in Flickr and have the search result in the form of an PHP Array.

First of all, the API says if you open the URL:

Couple of days ago i was searching for an alternate CD burning software which is small in size (aka not-BLOATED), and i found "CDBurnerXP".

CDBurner XP is free, and does most of the thing you want your CD burner software to do. One of the nice feature of it is the drop box -- minimize to a small box and let you open up file explorer, look around your harddisk, and drag-drop file into it to burn -- smart software ;)

try it, and you wont go back to NERO again ;)

Note: All this time i have been using NERO burning rom, despite the installer size getting ridiculously huge with the latest version (come on dude, 600MB for CD Burner software). And I hate it when NERO can't support the chinese characters in my filenames unless i set my Windows' "default codepage for non-unicode" to Chinese PRC. Where's the Unicode support??

If you are like me getting very pissed at TM's capping of BT downloads, i've tried eMule -- fast at first, now seems crappy too, and the download source are unreliable, alot of fake.

Perhaps this is not very new thing, but its new to some of you out there and myself. Try this software called XUN LEI (http://my.xunlei.com/). Its a all-purpose download client (not just BT, but other formats, and HTTP/FTP as well), a well rounded download manager.

Its now donwloading TMNT at 60kB.. and wont give you problem of unable to access websites (i have this problem when using uTorrent)
